One central objective of the ADP is to build capacity in participating agencies. This is done mainly through formal trainings and on-the-job sessions. Capacity building usually stands very high in the priorities set in strategic frameworks like National Strategies for the Development of Statistics - as it helps in creating a sustained capacity to produce and use statistics. Since its inception, the ADP has provided training to more than 2,000 staff from more than 150 national organizations in about 70 countries.
ADP also helps Universities and Training Centers in developping relevant and up-to-date curriculums on its field of expertise.
